I say yes, and encourage anyone who considers themselves a leader in this world to consider that it’s an important pursuit, for the sake of themselves, their following/constituencies, and- more broadly- for the world. It’s a shift outside of what we know outside our comfort zone.
It is our thinking that got us into most of the “messes” we see today- from racial inequality to climate change- and we will have to question our thinking challenge it and be open to growth, change and learning in order to move our thoughts, actions and behaviours into a more just and sustainable future.Ĭhange is never comfortable. We can strategize all we want around sustainability, the state of the planet, and social issues but what we really need is a shift in perspective to make any meaningful change for the long-term.
And, in today’s world, I believe this has an even greater implication for #leadership. The world we have made, as a result of the level of thinking we have done thus far, creates problems we cannot solve at the same level of thinking at which we.
